What is Biblical Counseling?
We don’t believe that the Bible is simply a how-to book or a recipe book for happiness. We believe that the Bible ultimately points us to a person and a relationship – Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. We believe that real change comes when people learn to see themselves and their problems in the context of a living, vital relationship with Christ.
This does not mean that you must be a Christian to benefit from our counseling. Although we believe that deep and lasting change is brought about only by God himself, the Bible is never brought to bear in an artificial or heavy-handed way.
God created us to be in relationship with Him and with others. In Genesis 2, God walked in the garden and said, “It is not good for the man to be alone" and created Eve to be united with Adam. Once sin entered the garden, Adam and Eve quickly struggled in their relationship. It was only with God's intervention and subsequent sacrifice, that the relationship between Adam and Eve was healed.
At ResoluteBC, we believe God's intervention in the counseling process is a crucial aspect in finding the answers that individuals, couples, and families need. Healthy relationships start with an understanding of ourselves, God's truly unique design. We will spend time discovering who you are through the eyes of the Creator.
As we explore your uniqueness, you will come into greater understanding of its impact on your relationships, decisions, and quality of life. All of this discovery takes place through the lens of God's Word.
